School's OUT! SUMMER'S HERE!

School is out but we're still IN ACTIVITY DAYS FULL SWING!! I know summer can be busy, but I wanted to give you girls every opportunity to get your Faith in God done as I can. If you've already got the Faith in God award, just come and have some fun!

A few weeks ago we held an Activity Day played a fun opening game of Twister, followed by Book-of-Mormon-opoly! The girls did a great job and we were definitely making time fly. The game was so fun, it was requested for another Activity Day. I loved watching the girls' enthusiasm as they played. Too bad my camera was out of batteries for that day.

This coming Tuesday, we'll be planning our Father's Day Night. I've got lots of ideas, and need some advice on what you girls think would be the best. I'm taking care of SNACK this time, and we'll be working on some Article's of Faith. If you've passed them off, bring a journal or be willing to help the other girls remember theirs. The date of the Father's Night will be dependent on what we decide. So, come with dates you and your dad could do something together (Thursday night, Friday or Saturdays) and lots of brainstorming ideas to share, share, share!!!

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER SUCCESS!

We had an excellent evening last Saturday when the Mother's joined up with Daughters to show manners! It was a success. We had a clothespin for each of the girls and if they broke manner's their pin was taken. To my excitement none of the girls lost their clothespin!!!
Placemats we had made were under the mother's plates to decorate with our foot - theme of following good manners. Shoes led the way to the party from the street.
After dinner we were quizzed on how well we knew our mothers. It was a wonderfully funny thing to hear the different answers as we ALL got to know the mother's and daughter's better. We'll be losing a few more of our girls in the next few months, but I'm so glad we got to know them as well as we did here. It was priceless.
We wrapped up the night handing out foot scrubs and eating Clafoutis. Very fun and a success for all those who came and participated!! We also passed off serving others if we really did go home and give our mother's a foot scrub. We passed off developing talents for those of us who came and learned about manners.

As a side note, we are going to be meeting through the summer. Why not, right?

SACRAMENT BREAD AND MOTHER'S DAY INVITE!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! If you were able to take the sacrament yesterday did you notice the bread? It was our Activity Day bread! I made one extra loaf so that we definitely had enough for everyone, but it was absolutely delicious, and I felt the Spirit give me little hugs as I took the bread over to the McDonald's to use for the sacrament. It was a neat experience to participate in something so gracious as the sacrament. My kids learned from watching you girls and I hope we all felt good after serving the ward. The sacrament also felt so personal as I had thought about it through the week making the bread. Any thoughts on that?

That's right, serving overs was the theme of our last activity so mark it off in your booklets and if you don't have a booklet, give me a call. 377-4831. I will make sure you get one.

Also - we've had another sister move from our ward again. We'll miss all these girls! I encourage you to bring friends! They'll have fun too!

AND THEN - reminder!! Invite your mothers to the 'Best Foot Forward Manner's Night with Moms!' Here's the info and pay close attention - it's changed from the foot you were given at the meeting:

Where: Sis. Sherman's house - NOT THE CHURCH!!
When: May 8 at 6pm

We'd like to have some really fun games and food, so we need you there! Feel free to make a personal invitation to your mother's.

The menu will be:
Sole Food Soup
Let Us use Good Manner's Salad
Croissants
Dessert: Clafoot-ie.

It will last about 1 1/2 hours. This is a great opportunity to get service passed off as we prepare for the party as well as talents as you can make decorations. We will also be passing off Article of Faith #10 as we all have 10 fingers and 10 toes we are very grateful for!

I know summer is coming and we're going to have a blast!!

Bring please!!!

If we could all bring something to contribute for our next activity, it will be a lot yummier when we get done with it!!
I'll be calling you each to see if you can bring a certain ingredient... yes, we'll be cooking. No, we won't be eating it. We will be eating the snack that is brought. Yes, it will smell "Muy delicioso"!
If you want to email me and get your assignment that way - just make sure you remember to tell your parents and okay it with them, FIRST.
The topic will pass off a Serving Others requirement. If you don't come, you can certainly do it on your own, but honestly - isn't it more fun to do things with others?

I'm looking forward to talking with each of you this weekend and seeing you at church or at the activity next Tuesday!

Spring Cleaning

Yesterday we had our Spring Cleaning Activity Day. If you do a little cleaning every day, it's easier to keep your home and room organized and clean. When our homes are clean, it's easier to feel the Spirit. It is also a commandment from our Father in Heaven to have a house of order. See D&C 109:8. We wrote down what that scripture meant to us on an index card and on the other side we wrote down 5 things that we can do to help achieve a goal of a clean house. It's easier when we clean together - many hands make light work. This activity completes a Talent card.
If you missed the activity and want me to help you pass this off, please call me! 928-377-4831. I've got a fun spring handout to go with this.
We welcome all friends, too! We now have an attendance chart and Achievement Charts that you can put stickers on once you have passed something off - and the attendance stickers are for when you come. We have 13 girls and I'd sure love to have a large group of all these friends here for Activity Day! Remember to water your plants, give them love and they will grow grow grow!!
Check on your new assignments for April 20th. I love you all and hope to see you there!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all of you! I wanted to leave my hint. The phrase is "You can Swallow an Elephant if you take a bite at a time." And take time to listen to the prophets' voices today- they are GREAT!

I know that Christ lives! He is our Savior, and our loving and merciful elder brother. He wants all of us little ladies to know how important our divine roles are and how special we are. He is always there for us, with a comforting feeling or helpful inspiration.

Here's a video that I absolutely love! Enjoy!

Reminder... Tuesday it is!

OK - so before everyone gets excited with the weekend, I'm shooting off this post to remind you to plan your ride over here to my house Tuesday. IF you need a ride, give me a call. AND - Bring a friend if you can. If you've got a pot with seeds that are sprouting, that's GREAT!! We do have some rotating to do because not everyone has a pot to take care of. Be ready to tell us what is 'up' with your seed and if you can bring it, please do!! Staples to bring every meeting (book, journal, SMILE!)

My goal is to get you all having a great time, smiling and chatting with each other like you would a best friend. The best way to do that is to come with a smile and maybe a question to ask someone to get to know them better.

Stay tuned for a hint about Tuesday's activity!!

If you are a conductor or snack person, be expecting a call from me or if you beat me to it - that's even better.

Happy April Fool's Day!!
