What's this -- Side Note?

If you look to the right you might see your name on there for a responsibility for the next meeting. These things are going to make sure each of you get a turn to direct, be creative, lead a song, and say prayers in our meetings. If you know ahead of time that you won't be there, please call me so we can find someone else and give them time to get ready. If you bring friends, we'd LOVE to have more people come.
If you are the CONDUCTOR please do your best to be here on time and check with me ahead of time to find out what we'll be doing so you can explain it to your friends.
If you are SNACK you will also need to check with me ahead of time to find out what to bring - what our 'gameplan' will be.
If you are SONG please come with a song in mind- whether it's a fun action song (popcorn... snowman), or other Primary songs. Nothing brings in the Spirit like music. Don't underestimate the effect that this can have on our meeting! :)

If you ever need to call me my number is 377-4831. Leave a message if I'm not there and I'll get back to you! Nothing is too insignificant to call me about -- good grades, sports, book writing... you got it!

A Group Project...

Yesterday we had our first meeting with me as the new leader. I appreciated all the parents who are willing to drop off and pick up kids as needed. Some of you might even be able to carpool with others to free up your evening just a tad more. Why not?
As first order of business we set up an Activity Days girls herb garden. Girls painted pots and planted seeds. We're growing oregano, basil, parsley, lavender, and chives. Each of the 5 attending girls were able to paint a pot, fill it with potting soil and plant the seed. We discussed how to read the back of the seed packets, the parallels of working on our faith and maintaining these herbs. Hopefully we'll have a large 'harvest' as they grow and will be able to cook some fun foods for our family with herbs we've grown from seeds and experience some creative ways to use lavender.

Because there are more girls than pots, we will rotate the pots around to share the responsibility and hence the sense of accomplishment when the plants start growing. Remember to water our plant when it feels dry (every other day or so) and keep it in a sunny area.
Our dessert was a ladybug sugar cookie, which we decorated with chocolate chips. MMMMM Good!!

Welcome Primary Girls!

This is a new idea I had for us and I hope it keeps us up to date and together with all the things we'll be doing. This blog is a place where we can celebrate each others accomplishments and give each other support to keep going and be strong! I'll post events and pictures of the activities we have had. All the events that we have planned will be listed on here, and have an invitation available to hand to your friends so that we can have a bunch of fun while doing worthwhile things that please our Heavenly Father.
